James Gee

James Paul Gee is the Tashia Morgridge Professor of Reading at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He is the author, among others books, of Social linguistics and literacies: Ideologies in discourses and An Introduction to Discourse analysis: Theory and method. His research involves discourse analysis and sociolinguistics applied to learning and language issues in education. He has also done work on language and learning in the new capitalism and, more recently, in video games.
