John Heritage

John Heritage (Ph.D., Leeds University) is Professor of Sociology at the University of California, Los Angeles. His curent research interests include conversation analysis, communication in medical and other institutional settings, and political communication. His recent publications include The News interview: Journalists and public figures on the air, Cambridge England: Cambridge University Press (2002) (with Steven Clayman), "Adherence to prescribed explicit criteria during utilization review: An analysis of communications between attending and reviewing physicians."
